I made the following pieces specifically for art shows or contests:
Eustace Tilley Contest
These are my entries for the 2009 Eustace Tilley contest.  The first is a collaboration with David
Marc Fischer.  (He thought of it, I drew it.)  The second is a play on  Magritte's The Son of Man.
The Son of Man
Anti-Valentine
BFFL (Best Friends
For Life)
La Moustache
I displayed both of these at  the Heart
Throb group show at
gallery
onetwentyeight.  The first is an
anti-valentine, which I originally made
for the
SCBWI Anti-Valentine Contest.
The second is a text message version
of Robert Indiana's
LOVE  (BFFL =
Best Friends For Life).
This was my entry for La Moustache, a
show dedicated entirely to mustaches.  I
made a response to Marcel Duchamp's
Mona Lisa L.H.O.O.Q.  (The man in the
photo is Marcel Duchamp.)
This was my entry for the What the Fluff? festival in Somerville,
MA.  I recreated four paintings in the styles of Lichtenstein, Pollock,
Rothko, and Warhol using peanut butter and/or Fluff as the subject
or medium.  My original plan was to create a giant Rothko using
real peanut butter and Fluff, but the rules prevented me from using
actual Fluff as a medium.  I used colored pencils and acrylic
instead.
