These scenes are snapshots from my youth.
The year was 1979. The place was the legendary
"Dugan's Bistro."
The occasion was the 6th Anniversary party.
If you think the
outside was fabulous,
imagine the party
that went on inside!
Mylar streamers
from the roof, the
sidewalk covered in
thousands of dollars
worth of silver
glitter, six klieg lights
guiding the city to
disco ecstasy. A staff
decked out in red and
white and the invited
guests in black
and/or white (only)
danced and partied
the night away. As I
look at these photos I
am transported back
in time, back to when
people actually
dressed up to go out,
back to when the
music was really
music (not just an
endless beat), back to
when all that
mattered was the
night, the music and
our youth. Come join
me as I walk down
memory lane and
preserve those hot
summer nights when
disco wasn't a dirty
word.............
