The MMSI will host a Saturday modeling workshop for those interested in learning
the basics of painting busts. Bob Sarnowski will host this workshop devoted to
painting busts. Bob is well known for his masterfully painted busts, which have been
honored with awards at many shows. He promises to share some of the techniques
that make them so lifelike.
Bring your own bust and painting supplies. Your bust should be ready to paint so,
bring your brushes, paint and any tools necessary, as this is a working session. Bob
base coats in acrylics and then paints in oils and he will share some of the
techniques that make his eyes and skin tones stunning.
We will also break for a pizza lunch.

For those of you who have not been there, St. Alban's is located 1 1/2 blocks east of
Harlem. Avondale runs parallel to the Metra tracks that are just south of Northwest
Highway. Got that?
If you are coming from the Kennedy Expressway, exit at Harlem Ave and go north.
Continue north passing the stoplights at Talcott and Peterson Avenues. Avondale is
the street that runs along the South side of the railroad tracks (just before you cross
them!). Look for Brandies Hot Dogs it's at the corner of Harlem and Avondale. Turn
right (east) and go about 1 1/2 blocks. St Alban's is on the South side of the street.
Go around to the side of the church and use the door with the Shakespeare Garden
sign above it. Enter the church by the side door, up the stairs and to the left to the
meeting room.
If you are coming from the city; get to Harlem and Devon by your best route. Go
south on Harlem. Avondale is the first street south of the tracks. About 1 block south
of Devon. Two streets actually, as you pass Northwest Highway before you cross
the tracks and get to Avondale. Turn left onto Avondale and the church is 1 1/2
blocks on your right. OK, so now there is a NO LEFT TURN sign at Avondale so go
one block further south and turn left. Turn left again at the first street and go back to
Avondale. Turn right on Avondale and St Alban’s is on your right.
